




STEAM WHISTLE BREWING — DIRECTOR’S DESIGN COMPETITION
Steam Whistle Brewing is a brewery in Toronto that began in 1998. They produce a premium pilsner lager packaged in distinctive green glass bottles and a non-twist cap. They worked with George Brown College running a campaign called Director’s Design Competition in 2013, which I won second place.
Based on the provided brand guideline, we created three tactics which were a newsletter, brochure and promotional materials. To deliver their premium, youth and eco-friendly identity, I
I chose to use their logo, the Brass Steam Whistles shaped drawing, as the shape of the whole brochure. For the newsletter, I created hand-drawn typography titled “starburst” which is one of the elements in their brand guideline. Also I applied the same element on the button and the T-shirt as well.
